We won $100,000 in Grants to Create a Neighborhood Plan$90,000 MTC-TLC GrantIn November 2004, the San Jose/Guerrero Coalition to Save Our Streets won a $90,000 grant to create a Neighborhood Plan for the San Jose/Guerrero Neighborhood. The money will be used entirely to plan what to do after 2005 to improve life in the neighborhood. $75,000 was awarded by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Transportation for Livable Communities (MTC-TLC) program and $15,000 more from a matching grant from the San Francisco County Transportation Authority. 46 grant applications were received and only 8 grants were awarded. Furthermore, ours was the only organization that wasn't a city agency to win a grant. |
$10,000 DPH Pedestrian Safety Mini-GrantAlso in November 2004, we won a second grant to conduct door-to-door surveys in association with the MTC-TLC grant and to create a pedestrian safety brochure. The money was awarded by the San Francisco Department of Public Health (using money from the California Office of Traffic Safety) under its Pedestrian Safety Mini-Grant program. |
